If you want an example of the complete moral collapse of the "mainstream media", one doesn't have to look further than Andrew Bolt's ruthless defending of disgraced Cardinal George Pell, and the attacking of his victim during the trial, Witness J.

Bolt had been George Pell's supporter for many years, even before Pell went to jail, and even after Pell had died for years. But his most notable works were published around the time Pell was acquitted by the corrupt judicial system that had been marred by child abuse scandals itself.

In 2020 Bolt made the notorious interview with Pell on "skynews". In the interview he helped Pell to push the narrative that the victim, witness J, was "used" by the other political factions within the catholic church to stop his investigation into corruption. Andrew bolt had published multiple articles, claiming that the child sex case against Pell was a "witch hunt", and "greatest miscarriage of justice". In his works, he never stopped insisting that Pell’s accusers were either wrong or liars, even while Pell was in a cell. 

Andrew Bolt's actions had sparked outcries on the internet, many believe that by smearing witness J, Bolt's intention was to intimidate victims all over the country to discourage them from coming forward and seeking for justice.

This campaign of hate against victims didn't stop there.

In Jan 2023, Pell died after a surgery in Italy. Bolt, once again, waged a new campaign saying, "Pell was an innocent man". Sky News takes the cake: in the 24 hours alone following the announcement of Pell’s death, he published no less than 30 mawkish, fawning articles grovelling over his holy legacy. The Australian runs a close second, he hyped Pell up 26 times in one day. I have no idea how Witness J will feel reading or watching all the filth.

Then in July 2024, when everyone thought the matter about Pell is over, Andrew bolt, without any warning, stroke again. Out of no apparent reason, he published a series of articles discussing the dead body of Pell, who died more than a year ago, as being "treated with gross disrespect". According to those reports, Cardinal Pell's brother David finds the embalming of Pell's corpse as "mucked up, or buggered up".

"A Sydney undertaker had to clean the body Pell's nose had also been broken. Pell was also shoeless, said David Pell, his brother.

Well, well, well... if that is the case, why wouldn't he mention this in 2023 during Pell's funeral? There is a moment I suspect that Andrew Bolt may have been in a grave health condition, and he fears his body treated in the same way, so, he put the news out telling people not to???

Never mind. Bolt's case is so special, since his moral decadence wasn't seen anywhere else in Australia, even within the mainstream media circles. A journalist had commented that 

The most generous thing I can say of Bolt is that he is shaky on paedophilia. He has been known to describe paedophilia as "hitting on" children. And he never stopped insisting that Pell’s accusers were either wrong or liars, even while Pell was in a cell. 

They all know they need to generate a lot of noise to stick up for Pell because the chorus against him is a lot louder. Thirty articles a day won’t even begin to do the job.

Now Pell’s dead and in hell. It’s imperfect, but it feels like an outcome — 99 % of us are overjoyed.

What is even more mysterious is that the campaign of supporting Pell won't bring Bolt's employer, the "News Corp", any Financial gains. In a news article published by "Crikey", it asked a few interesting questions:

So, if the Murdochs are so ruthlessly financially focused, why are they backing Andrew Bolt’s high-risk and commercially damaging campaign to blindly back George Pell and cover for the paedophile rackets inside the Catholic Church?

Bolt himself admitted it was financially damaging, telling viewers of his program on Sky News on Tuesday night that the likes of Sleeping Giants had successfully scared off advertisers based on his campaign defending Pell: "Worst of all, we had groups like Sleeping Giants approach advertisers on this show to punish us every time I appeared to discuss George Pell."

"This has cost us a lot of money to defend George Pell, a lot of skin in the game. But I have to say to you, not once in all this time did one of my bosses come to me and say ‘please be quiet, this is costing us money’… all the way up to Rupert Murdoch, who followed this closely." Said Bolt.

"Bolt even used his national TV program to attack the mother who tied a child’s bike to the gates of the Catholic monastery in Kew where Pell stayed on Tuesday night. When is he going to show some sympathy to the families whose lives have been destroyed? It wasn’t some ABC journalist who deposited the bike, it was a victim, whose stories of child abuse will continue to be told no matter what the High Court or Andrew Bolt says."

Now saying Bolt was just covering for his mate perhaps is an understatement. I can only assume Bolt was running a false flag mission to whip up hatred against the church, or even the judicial system, in that case he is doing some excellent work. Otherwise, if there is indeed a place where people would go to after they passed away, Bolt will go to the same place as his best mate Pell, no doubt about that.
